The Rejuvenize Peel® is the most powerful peel that we offer.  It is clinically proven, effective and gentle. After just one peel you will notice improvement in your skin’s texture and tone, lessening of fine lines and a healthier, more youthful appearance. Dramatic results can be achieved with a series of peels.

Rejuvenize Peels® are used to:

  • Improve comedones (black heads) and blocked pores.
  • Improve Irregular Pigmentation of the Skin
  • Treat superficial sun damage
  • Improve skin tone and its natural glow
  • Improve skin texture and smoothness
  • Treat fine surface irregularities.

How is a Rejuvenize Peel® different from a Vitalize Peel® Lactic Peel or Microdermabrasion?

  • A Rejuvenize Peel® is much more aggressive.
  • It produces results faster but produces more redness and significantly more peeling between treatments.
  • If you want quicker results, this is the peel for you.
  • If you want a very gentle treatment with no down time, minimal discomfort, and if you do not want to have heavy exfoliation and peeling for 4 days after the treatment, Microdermabrasion or lactic treatments are a better choice.
  • To prepare the skin for a Rejuvenize peel, at least one Vitalize peel treatment must be done first.

How is a Rejuvenize Peel® done?

  • Makeup and oils are removed with an alcohol solution in the office.
  • The solution is applied. Multiple applications can be used during the same treatment to help stubborn areas.
  • The peel agent tingles or stings while it remains on the skin. It is not painful.
  • A layer of sunscreen is then applied.
  • Heavy exfoliation and peeling is normally seen two to three days later.

What are the possible side effects?

  • There is tingling or stinging when the medication is applied.
  • The skin may be pink for up to 24 hours after the treatment, this is normal.
  • Rarely a patient may develop blisters, crusting, and scabbing or increased skin sensitivity. In very rare cases a person may develop increased or decreased pigmentation or scarring.

For One week before and after your treatment please STOP using the following procedures and products:

  • Electrolysis, waxing, depilatories, masks, peels, exfoliating scrubs or dermabrasion.
  • Hair dyes, permanent wave or straightening treatments.
  • Tretinoin (Vitamin A Acid creams) and Glycolic Acids.
  • Loofa or other types of sponges

Be sure to inform your doctor of:

  • Allergies
  • History of sensitive skin, eczema, lupus or other autoimmune disease.
  • Current medications
  • History of cold sores
  • History of sun sensitivity.

On the day of the Rejuvenize Peel®:

Please come to the office with a fully cleaned face. If possible, no make-up, cologne, or after-shave should be applied. If you shave, you should avoid shaving on the day of the treatment if possible.

How to take care of your skin after the treatment:

  • Wash your face gently twice daily
  • Apply sunscreen over your entire face. It can be used under makeup.
  • You may apply makeup 3 to 4 hours after the session.
  • You may apply Gliomatous immediately afterward.
  • Avoid abrasive sponges and scrubs for 1 week after the treatment.
  • Avoid sun exposure.
  • DO NOT pick, peel, scrape, scratch or wax your skin.
  • If your skin is dry use moisturizer as many times a day as you like.
  • If you develop a cold sore, let Dr. Vignjevic know this immediately as it could spread into the area of the chemical peel.

You should not have a Rejuvenize Peel® if you have:

  • Lupus
  • Very sensitive skin or rosacea
  • Allergies to Salicylates (Aspirin)
  • Had Isotretinoin, chemotherapy or radiation treatments within the past year.
  • Pregnant or Breast feeding
  • Are under the age of 12.
